PULP FICTION PRETTY!

I saw this wreath this morning while I was browsing through my Google Reader and was stopped in my tracks. It looked so light and feminine. I thought at first that it was made with fabric and was probably being sold at an extravagant price somewhere on etsy! But, no. I was directed to the blog site of the woman who created it and it is actually made from the pages of a less than collectible paperback book. And the instructions and a video tutorial were right there for free! Free!

I just had to show it to my artsy, crafty blogger friends. And I'm sure wonderful Lindsay would enjoy a little comment when you visit!

Very cool. I greatly like art created from items that have lost their value (ie. junk). I've seen some marvelous things made from old tires, an awesome sculpture of three horses mid-gallop and, on the not-that-artsy side, door mats.

Arlene...I have some pictures of other projects made from books. I'll post them soon. I appreciate all those things too. Wish I had more imagination. There are knitters who are so committed that they look for hand knits at salvage stores and unwind them to reuse the yarn. I'm just not that dedicated.

That was so cool. I really want to try to make some. My daughter is really having money problems right now, so I think this could be a gift she could make for friends and not go broke. Instead of painting the edges gray or brown, I wonder what green or red would look like for a more Xmas look.
I got lost at her blog and then ended up at pottery barn and ordered catalogs. Oh what a tangled 'web' we weave.

grammy...I was trying to think of other colors too. I really liked the antiqued look in that setting. Maybe gold or a flocked white? I think they would be great gifts! And I am constantly getting lost as you put it, but it is so much fun...unless I'm in a hurry to get to serious work!
