About the only thing that comes to us without effort is old age. ~Gloria Pitzer

mirror
I may look like this most mornings, but I am so proud of the person I see in the mirror.
I've lost 9 pounds this year!

I know that doesn't sound like a huge amount to some, but I know the effort that has gone into losing every ounce of it. And when I add that to what I've accomplished already, I'm very pleased.

I think I've felt the loss of the last few pounds more than I have all the ones before. That happens sometimes. Lose 20 and you don't notice much change. Lose 2 more and all of a sudden you look thinner and your clothes start to hang. It's a crazy process.

At my age, I would love to look in the mirror and see the Kathy that didn't have sagging skin or wrinkles around the eyes. I love my silver hair, but sometimes I miss the shiny dark brown I had when I was 16...they don't put that color in a bottle!

But I sure love and respect the person I see. I've learned that you can't get anything worth getting in life without putting up a bit of a fight, and I'm proud of myself for making the decision to engage in this one.

Now on to March!!!

Loved that picture! That's how I feel this morning! There is a certain amount of dignity that comes with age. (The bible says a silver head is a crown of glory!)

I must have a lot of glory then, :) I can't see the picture because our company web is blocking me from seeing it. I will just have to imagine. Something else that came without much effort was this extra weight. If only it would come off just as easy.

I did consider the ease with which weight can be gained, but putting on weight does require a good amount of effort...all that driving through fast food windows, being constantly on the look out for the next snack, and staking out your claim on the last piece of pizza or cake! Enjoyable work, but work just the same!

I think 9 pounds this year is awesome...that's a little more than 4 pounds a month, a pound a week! I'm thrilled
with my half pound per week....

If we hang in there, little by little the weight will come off and it will add up to a lot.

Congratulations!

9 pounds?! Woohoo! That's great progress! It's it weird how you can lose a couple pounds and not even notice but eventually you drop one or two more that completely make the difference? Keep goin, girl. You're doing great!
